BOARD TAKES OFFICE Wednesday 10 September
The Ngāti Toa School Board meet monthly in a meeting which is open to the public. This is usually held on the third Monday of each month in the staffroom at 5:30pm. The meeting generally covers student achievement, finance, property, personnel matters, policy review and development and all matters relating to the effective governance of the school.
The Board is elected by the parents every three years. The current board members were elected in September 2025.
The role of the board is to provide governance to the school. The board, and/or its individual members, are not involved in day to day operations of the school. If you have any queries about school matters, the first point of contact is the school office who can point you in the appropriate direction to have your query resolved by the right person or group.
Board meetings are public meetings. As a courtesy and for logistics purposes, the Board requests that members of the public advise in advance if they intend attending a meeting. If speaking rights are desired these need to be granted in advance from the presiding member.
Upcoming meeting dates for 2025:

School Policies
Ngāti Toa School works on a subscription basis with SchoolDocs to maintain, update, and review our policies. SchoolDocs provides us with a comprehensive core set of policies which have been well researched and follow the Ministry of Education National Administration Guidelines. The policies and procedures are tailored to our school, and the school supplies specific information such as our charter, and procedures for behaviour management, reporting to parents, etc.
Policies are monitored by SchoolDocs and updated, modified, or created in response to changes in legislation, significant events, Ministry guidelines, reviews/requests from schools, and regular reviewing from the SchoolDocs team. Our School Board has the opportunity to view changes and additions and comment on them before they are implemented.
