Ngā Ākonga Rangatira–Students Leaders

Kia ora e te whānau,
Welcome to our first-ever Year 7/8 student leadership team! This special rōpū of tauira have been selected to lead our kura through service, mana, and commitment. They embody our school values of Ako, Hauora, Iti Kahurangi, Kotahitanga, and Aroha.

Kindled by whakapapa and sparked by learning to fuel the future, these tauira are not only our current leaders — they are the living expression of our vision for the future of Ngāti Toa School.

2025 is also a milestone year for Ngāti Toa School, as we proudly celebrate our very first cohort of Year 8 students. These tauira are not only leading their peers — they are helping to pave the way for future generations of student leadership at our kura.

Rooted in the values of te ao Māori and guided by tikanga, our student leaders understand that leadership is not about standing above others, but about serving with humility, upholding the mana of others, and walking together as a collective. Their roles reflect both contemporary leadership and traditional Māori principles such as manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and rangatiratanga.

They will support school events, represent the voice of students, and help grow a culture of leadership for the future of Ngāti Toa School.
